Watching a solar eclipse is a memorable experience, but staring directly at the sun without proper protection can be damaging to your eyes. It can even cause blindness.

The only safe way to look directly at the sun is through special purpose solar filters. Ordinary sunglasses, even very dark or polarized sunglasses, and homemade filters are not safe for looking at the sun.

Proper solar filters will be rated to the international standard and will be labeled with ISO 12312-2. Eyes On Lincoln will have limited number of eclipse viewing glasses available.
